Creating Gradient Texture in Blender in 1 Minute

Are you looking to add a gradient texture to your objects in Blender quickly and easily? Follow these simple steps to achieve a smooth gradient effect in just one minute.

Step 1: Add a Color Ramp

  • Start by adding a Color Ramp node to your shader editor.
  • Connect the Color output of the Color Ramp node to the Base Color input of your shader.

Step 2: Utilize Separate XYZ Node

  • Insert a Separate XYZ node into your shader editor.
  • Connect the Z output of the Separate XYZ node to the Color Ramp node.

Step 3: Adjust the Mapping

  • Make sure you have the Node Wrangler add-on enabled in Blender.
  • Press Ctrl + T with the Color Ramp node selected to add a Mapping node and a Texture Coordinate node.
  • In the Mapping node, change the Z location to -0.1 to control the position of the gradient.

Step 4: Choose Your Gradient Colors

  • Select the colors you want for your gradient by adjusting the color stops on the Color Ramp.
  • You can add more colors by clicking on the Color Ramp and adding new stops if necessary.

Now your gradient texture is ready to use on your object. Experiment with different colors and positions to achieve the desired look for your project.
