How to Upload and Customize Images in Blender

Are you looking to enhance your Blender projects by adding custom images to objects? In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of uploading your own images, applying them to objects, and adjusting their size and position within the software. Let's dive into the steps to level up your Blender skills.

Opening the Shader Editor Window

The first step in incorporating your custom images is to open the Shader Editor window in Blender. This feature allows you to create and modify materials applied to objects in your scene.

Selecting and Preparing the Object

Next, select the object in your scene to which you want to add the custom image. To ensure a clean slate, delete the active texture associated with the object. If needed, you can easily revert this action by accessing the list of textures.

Adding and Connecting the Image

To introduce your custom image to the project, start by clicking on the "New" button in the Shader Editor window. Then, simply drag and drop your image file into the editor. Connect the image to the base color parameter of the material to visualize it on your object.

Adjusting Size and Position

For precise control over the size and position of your image, add a Mapping node and a Texture Coordinate node by pressing Shift + A within the Shader Editor. Connect these nodes accordingly. Experiment with the parameters in the Mapping node until your image aligns perfectly with your vision.

Managing Multiple Textures

If you intend to utilize multiple images or textures within your project, you can easily save and duplicate materials. By clicking on "New Material," you can create a fresh canvas for another image upload. Access your desired image by clicking on the designated folder icon.
